Change your thinking and you change your life

Like everyone I used to always try to change things from the outside in. If I wanted more money, I’d look for a better job, I’d train for a new skill, I’d take on an MLM opportunity, I always did more in the hope of getting more.

And I found trying to change my life from the outside in nearly impossible. And its such damn hard work too. Always having to push, pull, strive, struggle, work at every little thing, making every effort, watching out for slips, avoiding temptation and generally being on guard all the time looking for what I needed out in the world.

And internally, it’s just as much a struggle because you’re trying so hard and yet there’s that voice inside going,’Not for you, not going to happen.’ Its a real contradiction of effort and thought.

When you have the mindset that you’ve got to make it happen and that everything you need to make it happen is outside of you and you have to go find it, you’re constantly searching for that thing, whatever it is to get started, to get a toehold, make a start.

And you’re fighting with the critical voice all at the same time.

No wonder we’re all exhausted all the time and end up sitting in front of the tv or our phones looking for numbness.

Especially when you have the belief that you’re somehow not right for the thing you’re looking for, with that in your mind, you’ll never find the opportunities you seek.

But when you have the belief that everything is always working out perfectly for you, no matter what, you not only see more possibilities, they all seem so effortless and fit just right.

And when one thing you really wanted doesn’t happen, its not a catastrophe, or an example of your bad luck, it simply means there’s something even better for you just waiting to come into your reality, its simply waiting for the perfect moment to show up.

I;m not saying that changing your thinking isn’t hard work sometimes, because it can be. You have to let go of all your old beliefs and preconceived notions about who you are and how the world works and none of us like to do that.

You have to learn to accept all that happened in your life happened, it is what it is and release all the emotions you’ve attached to it like guilt, fear, shame, betrayal, anger, bitterness, self pity.

Instead you get up every day and remind yourself that life is working out for you, even when it sometimes feels like everything is falling apart.

In one of Tony Robbins books, he advises saying ‘This is good, this is good, this is good,’ over and over and over and then asking why is it good and allowing your mind to come up with answers for you.

But do you know why changing your thinking is so much better than trying to change your life from the outside in?

Because it works. Because you’ll feel different, happier, lighter, you’ll feel easier in yourself and in the world.

Because you’re not fighting yourself anymore. Change your thinking and you get all of you on the same side, working towards the same goal, outside efforts and inside thinking combining to make an unbeatable combination.

Change is an inside job. When you change how you think, you change how you look at the world. Your perception of everything changes, your perception of yourself and your place in the world and what you can be, do and have.

Change your thinking. Practise RWID for the things you want in life. Practise acceptance of what it and has been so you can now make the changes you want here and now.

When you think about what you want and focus all your efforts on what you want and allow it to happen for you, then your life changes in ways you could only dream about.
