Its the things in life we don’t notice that matter most

What did you do when you woke up this morning?

Did you even think about how you breathed through the night and right then in that moment are still breathing in life into your body?

I know, we take so much for granted.

We woke UP!

We’re breathing!

Did you wake up snuggled up, all warm and cosy in your duvet or blankets knowing if you put your foot out the chill of the air would nip a little?

Did you actually give any thought to what a freakin’ miracle that is?

Breathing! Its a frickin’ miracle. We take air in, filter it, absorb what we need to fuel our bodies and breathe out what we don’t use. I did a biology A level, I know the mechancis are a little more complicated but in essence that’s what we do.

Do we appreciate it?

We don’t even think about it for the most part. We take our body for granted. We take life for granted.

And breath is the key to healing and living well in so many ways.

Notice your breath right now – are you taking shallow little pants, are you almost breath less in an unrecognised desire to be invisible and silent?

Unless you’re in immediate danger then you need to breathe with gusto, deep nosy inhales and exhales, flare out your ribcage as you breathe in, feel it contract on the exhale.

We literally almost stop breathing and that’s a response to trauma and when we keep doing it, the trauma response stays in our body.

BREATHE

Deeply. Noisily. With GUSTO – I am liking that word today!

BREATHE like this and you are informing you’re body you feel safe, you are processing what’s held in your body and then you let it go.

All you have to do? Keep breathing.

We stop breathing when we feel deeply, especially overwhelming, uncomfortable emotions and sensations that show up in our body. We take that sharp inhale and it gets stuck in our chest, our throat.

Here’s how you release the pain that gets trapped, whether its wrapped in sadness, grief, anger, disappointment, bitterness, whatever…

BREATHE through it, breathe as you allow it to rise up in your body, breathe into where you feel the discomfort.

Don’t focus on your thoughts, focus on what you’re feeling. FEEL it as you BREATHE.

And let that wave of emotion crest and ebb.

If you’ve been holding onto it for some time, then you’re going to have to go through a few cycles of this to release that stuff you’ve been holding on to.

Learn to keep breathing through it as it comes up, no matter where you are.

And let me share this last thing with you, its easier to do this with others. Its so much easier to do this when you feel seen, heard and supported.

And that’s what we do in BE YOUR OWN LIGHTHOUSE. Join us and amaze yourself at the depth of peace and healing you feel in a group with like hearted people who are there for you and for themselves.

I am demonstrating the power of the group and the power of tapping into your own Higher Consciousness. Join me in my FR** MAsterclass Thursday 11th November at 7pm
