Its so easy to know who we want to be, why do we find it so hard to be it?

Just read this part, then close your eyes and allow your imagination to show you exactly who you would be if you could be the person you see yourself as in your wildest dreams.

Take a deep breath in, bring your hands to your heart and as you exhale imagine you are breathing out stress, tension, distraction.

Another deep breath and feel your body relaxing as with your exhale you breathe out even more tension, stress and distraction.

One more time, feeling your hands rise with your breath in and lower as you breathe  out.

And close your eyes and bring that image to mind. The one of you as you see yourself being in those moments when you allow yourself to think its possible to be all that you want to be.

The physical health, the body shape, the fitness, the shiny, silky hair, the smooth skin, the smile of joy because you look great and feel even better.

What are you doing with your days? How do you spend your mornings?, Your evenings? Who do you have lunch with? What do you do with your time? Who are the people around you? Where do you live?

Isn’t that a lovely thing to do, to give yourself the gift of seeing yourself living out life exactly as you want you to be.

And we think that’s something that we can’t do for ourselves. That it needs outside intervention. a big, single change of circumstance that takes us from where we currently are to where we want to be.

Its not one single big thing that brings us our ideal life and yet so many of us wait for that moment of instant rescue, winning the lottery, investing in a new cryptocurrency that takes off, being discovered as a new talent and given a global stage, being promoted way up the ladder.

That hardly ever happens. And yet its the dream we human beings invest the most time and energy into. Who hasn’t imagined getting the winning numbers on a multi-million lottery ticket and picturing in detail what they will spend the money on. I have and I got amazingly good at spending £25 million in my head. I could even spend £125 million when those EuroMillion jackpots hit the news.

But becoming the person I want to be, the one who takes care of her health, hydrates every day, eats healthy every day, stretches and does yoga and flexibility training – even though that’s the version of me I long to be, and all it takes it daily discipline to do the right thing and stop doing the wrong thing – that seems harder and further away than the possibility of winning the lottery,

Our ideal self and our ideal life does not hinge on some random act of destiny.

It rests in us choosing to do what is right for us.

Choice. Choosing. Making a decision.

Why when going round the supermarket do we fill up out shopping cart with junk we don’t actually want to eat?

Why when we want to learn something new, explore a new philosophy or interest do we get sucked into social media and lose hours on watching cat videos?

Why when we want to be clean and sober do we still meet with the people who take us down the pub for a quick one or tell us one quick hit won’t do us any harm?

Why do we find ourselves constantly avoiding doing the things that will lead to us being that ideal version of ourselves that we crave being?

We al have our wounds, our ego and our twisted idea of what the world expects from us. Our parents’ expectations, our family’s, friends, society, colleagues, we all think we know what they want from us.

Here’s what they want; for you to stay in whatever box they’ve put you so they don’t ever have to think about you or change their idea of who you are.

Here’s what you need to do: be you. Be the fullest expression of yourself that you can be and stay true to your course.

You’ll get there in the end because you will get bored of not being who you want to be and decide one day, I’m going to make this happen and no-one will be able to stop you and we will all have to change our idea of who you are because you’ve changed who you are. Or you won’t and you’ll stay where you are right now.

The key thing to making it happen – don’t do it alone. Find support. Get yourself a group that encourages and supports you.

Best of all, be on your own side. Cheer yourself along, be your no.1 supporter. When you realise you have unconsciously put crap into your shopping trolley, put it back or leave it at the check out till.

Keep making better choices every day. Little by little. Nothing grand, it doesn’t seem life altering, but slowly, surely you change and life changes for you.

The best way to staying on track with becoming your ideal self is to connect with your Higher Self and get Divine guidance, support and encouragement, Nothing clears the rubbish out of your way, like having Infinite Intelligence on your side, showing you the way forward to building that ideal version of you, living that ideal life.

When we tap into the Infinite, we gain insight into worlds, visions, everything and most especially ourselves.
