Its time to call out your own bullshit because let me be clear, it is you who is sabotaging your own life. Whoops, that’s a bit harsh isn’t it? But softly, softly isn’t helping you, ignoring the truth isn’t helping you, allowing you to hide from, deny or refuse the truth isn’t helping you. And I do want to help you.
Just try this little exercise for me, take a deep breath and go quiet and still and turn your attention inwards.
And I want you to think about all the stuff that’s making you mad, sad, angry or worse…Allow all the emotions, all the stuff you’ve been bottling up, to begin to swell up inside of you.
You might feel them as a horrible, sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach, and it might feel really overwhelming if you’ve been stuffing your feelings down for some time and now say out loud:
‘It’s ME that’s wallowing in my own misery and depression and refusing to do anything about it’
‘It’s ME that’s not taking care of myself yet expecting to just “feel good” every day’
‘I hate the way I feel about myself and how I’m treating myself’
‘I hate how miserable I am! I’m sick of feeling depressed every day’
‘I hate that no matter what I do and where I go, nothing seems to change’
Did that resonate truthfully within you? Even just a little bit? Maybe I could be right about it being YOU that is keeping yourself trapped in a downward spiral of self-sabotage and not doing anything about it except maybe wishing and hoping and complaining?
There’s a reason why I say, ‘Free your mind and the rest will follow.’
Its your thinking that’s keeping you stuck.
