Stress: The invisible monster that infects us all and we don’t even know it!

You know that old story about how to boil a frog?

Urban myth has it that if you put a frog in a pot of boiling water it will instantly leap out. But if you put it in a pot filled with pleasantly tepid water and gradually heat it, the frog will remain in the water until it boils to death.

Poor frogs, right?

But it’s really just an analogy to describe our inability or resistance to respond to threats that arise gradually.

And stress is the biggest threat we face on a global level, although on an individual level, there are many other forms of insidious threat that increase over time, domestic violence being one such.

I find it incredible in the way most people pretend they’re not stressed, that they don’t feel overwhelmed and ready to break into pieces, as though being okay and able to cope is the most important thing in the world. To always present that face to the world that they’re in control and things are just fine.

Things are not fine and its inhumane and unkind to pretend they are. Even before the pandemic, there was this ridiculous stress load on each and every person in our world and work, family, and now endless lockdowns and an out of control virus just raises the temperature on the pot. Like the frogs, we are getting close to boiling point.

I watched a friend lose it a few days ago, I mean completely lose it, shaking a big stick threeateningly at a women and her child and threaten to shoot her and her dog. He’s not insane, he simply spiralled out of control.

Managing stress is a daily practice. It’s not going on a retreat once a year and you’re done. It’s about everyday releasing the pressure valve.

I have a great audio program for managing stress, real world methods to bring down the temperature inside your head from steam room to chilled glacier, or at least to a nice room temp average 🙂

I’m going to re-record it, as there are so many new tips and science breakthroughs I want to share.

If you’d be interested in this programme and want me to add a live group session and hypnosis experience with this too, then let me know by commenting below.

PS. I’m creating a monthly group program where people come together twice a week to grow, share, learn, laugh, cry, support and be supported. There will be a teaching session one day and a Q&A another, plus email. text and group support.

I’m looking to launch within the next few weeks, although this will be a closed door group, anyone can join initially. The group’s aim is to create a culture of healthy, happy people who understand their mental, emotional and physical needs and honour and respect themselves, setting boundaries for themselves and others, developing strategies that every day set the stage for living a well-lived life. I truly think I can serve more people better in this way.

I have not even written the sales page foe this or created a link, but if you’re interested, let me know down below by commenting on this post. And I’ll get in touch. Group work is going to be so cool, everyone helps everyone heal, the whole vibe of the group raises us all up.

I’ve been in a lot of groups to learn, experience for myself and take what I need to create my own. I am so excited about this project, stay tuned for more. And remember if you want to be in it and get an exclusive offer that’s only for my people, my current connections, comment below.
