You can understand that stories often have a parallel with life and you may find something in a story that will help you deal with something that’s causing you discomfort in your life.
Because when you have a problem, your mind holds that problem as one unique structure and it has one unique metaphor that describes that structure. And if you change how the metaphor is represented, then the structure in your mind and thus your life will alter to match that change.
Put simply, if you change the structure then you change the problem. Actually, by changing that structure you destroy the thing that is causing the problem, and the instant the structure changes, the problem literally disappears.
In this meditation, you are the hero of your story, a hero who sets out to slay their dragons and save their world. In fact, you are rescuing yourself, because you are the only person who can rescue you.
And with the dragon gone….you can experience new ideas, a new perspective. Because you are no longer held back by the dragon. After the meditation, your dragons are gone, leaving you free to move forward in life.
